PIERRE DUBOURG
Pierre Dubourg trained as a product designer with a Master’s degree in Product Design. He began his career with the Arik LEVY design studio in 2008.
He became his close collaborator, responsible for creation, furniture development and industrial design. At his side for six years, he worked for editors such as Vitra, Molteni, EMU, Viccarbe, Living Divani… and in 2014 opened his own design studio.
Although he admires a certain rigor and simplicity, his practice offers a warmer approach to drawing, with an often technical starting point that questions the use of materials. This Cartesian approach is complemented by the addition of tricks and details that enrich the projects. For him, it’s difficult to define design today, so protean is it. “It’s a knot, a junction between technology, use and aesthetics. The designer is at the heart of a system where multiple skills intersect, and must synthesize them through the drawing and design of an object. It’s a blend of technique and sensitivity, where curiosity and listening are essential”.
His collaboration with Dasras is a long-term one, with collections that grow with each project. Particular attention is paid to design, the quality of materials and finishes, all of which help to create an identity and a signature. Pierre DUBOURG lent himself to the game of design for DASRAS with the creation of the Volute and Stilt lines.
